The details of the Cornell University Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) are reviewed and recommended each year by Cornell’s Student Insurance Advisory Committee (SIAC). This ensures that the coverage is well-suited to the needs of the Cornell students and respectful of their budgets.  

SIAC is comprised of undergraduate and graduate student representatives, university administrators, and Gannett staff. It is charged with the responsibility of balancing concern for the health care needs of Cornell students against the costs of health insurance. (The more services the plan covers, and the lower the co-payments, the higher the cost of the plan to every student.)
