Who We Are
At the Cornell Office of Student Health Insurance, we're interested in your well-being
and we want you to succeed. Our staff members can assist you by:
- explaining important University health insurance requirements
- clarifying the often-confusing language of insurance (e.g. what's a co-pay? in
network provider?)
- talking with you about Cornell's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)
- helping you submit your expenses to SHIP
We're not an insurance company, as some people assume. Rather, we are the customer service office for Cornell's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), including its optional vision
and dental plans, and for the Cornell Athletic Injury Insurance.
If you're a participant in SHIP, we can meet with you and/or your parent(s)/spouse/same sex partner about plan benefits. We can also
help you submit expenses to the Plan.
If you're not a participant in SHIP, we will do our best to point you in the
right direction so that you can get your questions answered. Every plan works
differently, so your own plan's administrator will be the expert to whom you will
turn.
